Skin Concerns
Milia
Milia (the plural of ‘milium’) are small white or yellowish raised cysts, bumps or spots on the skin. Milia can sometimes take a long time to disappear naturally, but can be professionally removed through a simple, minor procedure.

Milia (the plural of ‘milium’) are small white or yellowish raised cysts, bumps or spots on the skin. They are normally found around the eye area and cheeks, but can appear anywhere on the face or body. It is very common to have several milia appear in clusters and they are very common in newborn babies where they are often referred to as ‘milk spots’.
Unlike a pimple or spot, milia feel quite hard, almost like a small piece of grit under the skin, and do not have any redness or inflammation as you might expect with whiteheads or acne related spots. Milia are not contagious or harmful in any way, but some people may feel self-conscious about them, especially if they are on an area of the skin which is very visible, such as the face. Milia can sometimes take a long time to disappear naturally, but can be professionally removed through a simple, minor procedure.
East Gate Extraction Treatment
During your 1 hour treatment open blackheads, closed whiteheads and milia will be cleared from the skin. The Forehead, nose, cheeks and chin areas are of focus. Using an extraction jelly and medical nano steam the skin is prepared and opened for easy extraction, with far clearer skin. A course of extractions may be required depending on the severity of your skin condition.
Dermal Needling
Dermal needling uses small needles to cause tiny punctures in the skin. These small contact points encourage the body to create a wound-healing response and renew the skin cells. As your skin repairs, the production of collagen and elastin is triggered to give an almost immediate plumping effect. Skin appears brighter and younger looking.

Milia can develop for a number of reasons,
Trapped Dead Skin Cells
When skin cells don’t naturally exfoliate, they can become trapped in pores, forming milia.
Thick or Occlusive Skincare Products
Using heavy creams or oils, especially around the eye area, can block pores and contribute to milia.
Sun Damage
Long-term UV exposure can thicken the outer layer of the skin, making it harder for cells to shed normally.
Genetics or Skin Type
Some people are naturally more prone to milia due to their skin type.
Post-Procedure or Trauma
Sometimes milia appear after treatments like laser, dermabrasion, or skin injury, as the skin heals.
Ageing Skin
As we age, the skin’s natural exfoliation slows down, making milia more likely.
