Skin Concerns
Neck Lines
Neck lines are the wrinkles and sagging skin due to a loss of elasticity. As you age, your natural skin cell turnover decreases and the collagen that you naturally produce depletes.

Neck lines can appear commonly as part of the natural ageing process and are usually defined by wrinkles and sagging skin due to a loss of elasticity.
The neck is often one of the most exposed areas of the body and therefore it is important to protect it against damage. There are some steps you can take to reduce your chances of developing neck lines. These can also help you ease your discomfort from the ones you already have:
- Wear SPF (Sun Protection Factor) sunscreen. Use an SPF of 30 or higher when you are outdoors, whether in the sun or not, as UVA light levels can cause damage throughout the year. Reapply every two hours if you’re swimming or perspiring.
- Exercise your neck daily. This will tighten your neck’s muscles and pull in sagging skin a bit.
- Use moisturisers products with built-in SPF. Though moisturisers can’t prevent wrinkles, they may temporarily mask tiny lines and creases. SPF will block both UVA and UVB rays.
- Eat a low-salt diet rich in high-fibre foods.
- Avoid smoking.
As you age, your natural skin cell turnover decreases and the collagen that you naturally produce depletes. These ageing wrinkles usually appear horizontally to your neck. However, you may also find another type of wrinkles, vertical neck lines. These are caused by keeping your head in the same position over long periods of time for example when working with a computer, or when you sleep.
Royal Mayfair Medical Facial
There are a number of skin peels at London Skin, designed to brighten and refresh the skin. The treatment involves applying a non-toxic chemical to the surface of the skin to encourage cell turnover and exfoliation. As dead skin cells are removed, skin appears clearer and more radiant and wrinkles are softened around the neck.
Manor Park Skin Needling
Dermal needling uses small needles to cause tiny punctures in the skin. These small contact points encourage the body to create a wound-healing response and renew the skin cells. As your skin repairs, the production of collagen and elastin is triggered to give an almost immediate plumping effect.
High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) Skin Tightening
HIFU uses concentrated ultrasound energy to the face, neck and body by a handheld device. It is a non-invasive treatment that helps stimulates the cells, resulting in tissue rejuvenation and collagen production. The overall effect of the treatment is to promote tightening and lifting of the skin in these areas.
A HIFU treatment can help stimulate tissue rejuvenation and collagen production – resulting in the tightening and lifting of saggy skin. In the hands of a skilled practitioner, this can produce results akin to facial sculpting (but without the need for surgery).
Plasma Pen
Plasma Pen is a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment that can enhance the appearance of your skin.
The plasma gas produced by the pen encourages the production of new cells and collagen to create rejuvenation, plump skin. Superficial wounds will be apparent on the skin, but will flake off in the days following the treatment to reveal gorgeous results.

Neck Lines — Causes and Contributing Factors
Neck lines, sometimes referred to as neck wrinkles, tech lines, or horizontal necklace lines, can become more noticeable with age. They develop as a result of both natural ageing processes and everyday lifestyle habits.
Loss of Collagen and Elastin
As we age, the production of collagen and elastin—the proteins that help maintain firmness and elasticity—gradually decreases. The skin on the neck is naturally thinner and more delicate than on the face, making it more prone to sagging and fine lines.
Dehydration and Dry Skin
The neck has fewer oil glands than the face, which can make it more susceptible to dryness and visible creasing over time.
Loss of Structural Support
With age, bone density and underlying fat layers naturally decrease, reducing structural support and contributing to folds or creases in the neck area. Weakening of the platysma muscle (a thin muscle in the neck) can also create vertical banding or horizontal lines.
Repetitive Movement (“Tech Neck”)
Frequent downward movement of the neck, such as when looking at phones or laptops, can cause repetitive folding of the skin. Over time, these dynamic creases may become more permanent.
Sun Exposure
UV exposure accelerates the breakdown of collagen and elastin and contributes to photoaging. Without adequate sun protection, the neck area can develop pigmentation, uneven texture, and deeper lines.
Skincare Habits
The neck area is often overlooked in daily skincare routines. Consistent hydration and sun protection can help maintain the skin’s natural resilience and texture.
Common Visible Changes
• Horizontal lines that deepen with time
• Vertical bands from muscle laxity
• Fine crepiness and reduced firmness
• Uneven tone or texture from UV exposure
Medical Facials
At The London Skin Clinic, we offer a range of customised facial treatments designed to support healthy skin function and promote a refreshed complexion. Our professional-grade peels use carefully selected, non-toxic solutions to gently exfoliate and encourage natural cell renewal, helping the skin appear clearer and more refined.
Skin Needling
Also known as collagen induction therapy, this treatment involves the use of fine needles to create controlled microchannels in the skin. This process activates the body’s natural repair response, supporting collagen and elastin production for improved texture and overall skin quality. A course of treatments may be recommended to optimise results.
High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) Skin Tightening
HIFU delivers focused ultrasound energy to targeted areas of the face, neck, or body. This energy reaches the deeper layers of the skin to support natural tissue regeneration and collagen stimulation. Over time, this may help enhance skin firmness and resilience. Individual outcomes vary depending on skin condition and treatment parameters.
Plasma Pen
This non-surgical, non-invasive device treatment delivers controlled plasma energy to the skin’s surface. The energy assists in skin regeneration by encouraging natural cell turnover and collagen remodelling. Mild surface crusting can occur and will naturally shed within several days as the skin renews.
Rejuran Treatment
Rejuran® is not a filler or volumising product—it does not alter facial or neck structure. Instead, it focuses on enhancing overall skin quality and resilience by encouraging optimal skin function.
All Rejuran® treatments at The London Skin Clinic are performed by qualified medical professionals following a detailed consultation to determine individual suitability.
Mild redness or small bumps may occur temporarily following treatment and typically resolve within 24–48 hours. For most clients, a course of sessions spaced several weeks apart is recommended to support cumulative skin health benefits.
